That said, it still feels like a “destination” area rather than a daily-living place. It’s best suited for luxury villas and holiday rentals. A friend of mine bought a 2BR villa here and rents it out for $300–$400 per night in high season. The returns are strong if you go for short-term rentals. Just be careful with land titles and leasehold terms — this part of Bali can be tricky without a good agent and lawyer. But if you're after dramatic views and vacation appeal, Melasti is a smart long-term play.
